Undergraduate Summer Research Intern
Drake Thompson was an undergraduate summer research intern in 2025. He is an undergraduate at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) where he is a Meyerhoff Scholar studying Computer Science with a minor in Psychology. He worked on developing deep learning based algorithms for automated supervised behavior segmentation in mice for detection of phenotypes associated with disease, mentored by Elise Davis. He is an NIH/NIDA EDUCATE Scholar conducting research at the National Institute on Drug Abuse on behavioral and neural correlates of associative reward learning and drug relapse, with a focus on developing analysis pipelines for single nucleus RNA-sequencing and studying neuronal ensemble dynamics using calcium imaging.
