Frederico Kiffer
Frederico Kiffer is a staff scientist who joined the lab in November 2025. He received his B.S. in Biology and Music from Lyon College and his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Prior to joining the lab, he was a postdoctoral fellow and staff scientist in Amelia Eisch’s lab at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the University of Pennsylvania, where he held a NASA-TRISH fellowship and was awarded the Postdoctoral Fellowship for Academic Diversity. He leads our project on applying computer vision and deep learning approaches for phenotyping mouse behavior in space. His expertise includes machine learning for pose estimation and behavioral classification, space radiation effects on the brain and behavior, and systems neuroscience. He is a 2025 NASA Astronaut Candidate Finalist.
