Bioinformatics Analyst
Benfica is a bioinformatics analyst (jointly with the Todd Michael Lab and the Harnessing Plants Initiative) who joined the lab in January 2025. She received her B.Tech in Bioinformatics from D.Y. Patil University and an M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Southern California. Her work focuses on building data infrastructure to support large-scale plant genetic and phenotypic datasets. She brings experience in developing scalable bioinformatics pipelines, cloud-native tools, and interactive data visualization platforms using technologies like AWS, Docker, and React.
